CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 397(STA) "An Act exempting a person                                           
driving certain motor vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft from driver                                 
licensing requirements; and providing for an effective date" was read                               
the second time.                                                                                    
                                                                                                    
Senator Cowdery, Chair, moved and asked unanimous consent for the                                   
adoption of the Transportation Senate Committee Substitute offered on                               
page 3069. Without objection, SENATE CS FOR CS FOR HOUSE                                            
BILL NO. 397(TRA) was adopted and read the second time.                                             
                                                                                                    
Senator Wilken offered Amendment No. 1 :                                                             
                                                                                                    
                                                                                                    
Page 2, line 7, following "regulation":                                                         
 Insert "if the person is under 16 years of age and the person                                  
 (A)  is accompanied by and under immediate supervision of a                                    
driver licensed under this chapter; or                                                          
 (B)  has completed a snowtrac safety course offered by the                                     
Department of Public Safety"                                                                    
                                                                                                    
Page 2, following line 11:                                                                          
 Insert a new bill section to read:                                                                 
   "* Sec. 2.  AS 28.15.021(5) is repealed July 1, 2007."
